Equine massage can be integrated with Healing energy work to provide a very unique and special combination giving your horse a safe space to relax, learn to trust and get used to touch. It is ideal for rescue horses or those who have been traumatised or abused and are wary of having certain areas of their body touched due to illness, injury, tack problems, soreness and tension.  It is very important to work within their limits and what they can tolerate which is where Healing comes into it's own, as I can then step back and offer Healing enabling your horse to relax and let go so he can more easily be receptive to the benefits of Massage.

I also work on the Bladder Meridian which is one of the major acupuncture meridians in a horse's body and has the unique effect in that it balances the other acupuncture meridians. It runs from the head through three major junctions: poll, withers and sacroiliac and then down the hindquarters to the coronet band. This is a very interactive process which will help engender trust and enable your horse to indicate where he may be guarding tension and how he will respond to me.

The techniques I use are light and soothing thereby helping to release tension and improve flexibility, decongest muscles (very good for horses on box rest), increase circulation and reduce inflammation in the muscles of the back and pectoral muscles to make ridden work more comfortable. Although this is a light massage it will have a very beneficial effect on the entire nervous system because of the way the nerve endings are nearer the surface and respond to touch and different sensations ie. a fly landing on the horse's skin.

A horse's response to Healing is very real, there is no Placebo effect, they intuitively recognise spiritual energy and they often indicate where they need Healing.
